The Lookout Honeys, una banda punk femenina, have played several tours in Latin America, as well as an abundance of shows on the East Coast of the U.S. and in their hometown of New York City. Frontwoman Mexi, a native of Mexico City and El Salvador, brings a wonderful Latina vivaciousness to the band, singing in both Spanish and English. A trained dancer, she creates a deep synergy between her bodily movements and her vocal expression. Maegan (guitar and vocals), Aileen (bass), Carrie (drums on Aguacatero), and Heather (current drummer) have each been part of the New York music scene for decades. In the past and present, they have been members of Freaky Wilderness, Eljin Marbles, Jeffrey Lewis, Peter Stampfel, Bikini Carwash, and Hekla, to name a few. The Lookout Honeys have been guests on Mexican television, performed live on Bull Terrier FM CDMX radio, and been interviewed by numerous other radio stations and podcasts in New York City, Guatemala City, San Salvador, and Mexico City.
The Lookout Honeys came together as New York City’s first, only and best all-woman Stooges tribute band, but emerged from the crucible of the pandemic reborn with a trunkload full of original tunes and enough energy to light up Times Square. The musical fusion of four agitators who’ve had vastly different journeys and artistic influences has unleashed a magnetic, bilingual hurricane of rock ‘n’ roll. The Lookout Honeys released their first EP, X-ACTO, in 2023, and will be releasing a full length album April 2025.
